The triple photocell RLS3c consists of three photocells that are integrated in one casing on top of each other. It can be operated in two different modes: photocell area and single photocell use. In photocell area mode, the photocell only produces an impulse if all three photocells are triggered at the same time. This prevents that the photocell is triggered by e.g. an arm unintentionally passing the photocell. In this way, quite an accurate unofficial winner time is obtained. This photocell is very important when a display board is used. In single photocell mode, the photocells inside the casing work as independent photocells. This means that the first one that is triggered produces a timing impulse.
